The Create, Edit and View fields for Pet Profile information on Chewy were managed separately by each supporting team, which both increased complexity and reduced scalability. With Chewy’s aim to expand its range of supported pet types and add features to pet profiles, a unified and standardized system was needed to streamline operations and support future growth.
A unified and reusable framework for creating, editing, and viewing pet profiles.
I worked with our engineering teams to design and deliver three reusable building blocks, which were integrated into the core Chirp component library. These resources provide the pet profile team with visibility into the state and usage of components, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the platform.

I audited over 12 flows across the Chewy ecosystem for all 8 pet types and identified 3 phases for the reusable component to be updated. Each team has it's own resources invested into making the flow, and if any changes are made to the fields, such as expanding health conditions or updating the interaction pattern, each team would have to make the updates independently.

As part of this initiative, new fields specific to specialty pets were introduced for Equine. I led the design for updating the fields across the 8 pet types. Concurrently, running a breed research project that uncovered insights around breeds, and specialty pets. I leverage the UXR insights to identify the need for updating a component that was used across breed, and health fields to improve the usability on mobile devices.
